Tom Selleck & Blue Bloods Stars REVEAL Untold Secrets Before the Final Season! What They REALLY Think About the Show’s End!
After a successful 14-season run on CBS, the police drama “Blue Bloods” is finally coming to an end. The show has centered around the Reagan family as they took on the tough streets of New York City.
Tom Selleck plays Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, the head of the family. Well, actually the patriarch is Henry, Frank’s father and former police commissioner. Frank’s children all play a part in keeping NYC safe. Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is a tough-talking, tough-acting detective, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) is a tough but kind associate district attorney, and Jamie (Will Estes) is a former lawyer-turned-police officer who is not as tough as his brother but willing to put his life on the line for the safety of others.

Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) was Jamie’s partner until they got married. Danny’s original partner was played by Jennifer Esposito, and now Marisa Ramirez has the part of Maria Baez, equal to Danny in the tough department but with a style all her own.
So why is CBS cancelling this popular show? Several reasons have come down the pike. First, the longer a series runs, the more expensive it is to produce, so they say. Second, the network wants a spinoff and the powers that be decided it would be better to produce a spinoff than to produce Season 15.
The first season of “Blue Bloods” averaged 13 million viewers. The 14th season, the viewership is a bit less, but the show is still winning Friday nights.
The final season of the series has been split into two sections. The first premiered earlier this year. Oct. 18 will see the beginning of the final eight episodes of the show. Even though the viewership has decreased over time, the final episodes will no doubt bring many old viewers back to see how the stories wrap up. Will the final scene be at the famed Reagan dinner table? Will all the family be together or will there be a departure? Time will tell.
What viewers might take to heart is that CBS is working out if/how/when they will come up with the spinoff, and what that will be.
