Despite leaving Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Colin still works on boats. He releases weekly YouTube videos on his channel, Parlay Revival, which detail his journey fixing up and sailing on a hurricane-damaged catamaran around the world. In a recent post, Colin shared his experience with great white sharks. “Reposting because last night we released the full video of what happened with the great white sharks in Stewart Island, New Zealand. There were also articles written about how we were “scared for our lives” etc,” Colin wrote.

He continued, “his was a major exaggeration, we never felt unsafe. We even went Paua diving 2 miles from here the next day. Colin reflects fondly on the positive parts of his journey on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. For example, he and Captain Glenn Shephard have a great relationship. In a tagged post on Instagram, Colin wrote, “Cappy Glenn @bigsailboats, you’re a rock star, always. Thanks for being an admirable leader.” Colin has over a decade of experience in engineering aboard yachts, and he’s always learning more about the industry and spending his time sailing around the world, even though he’s not on Below Deck Sailing Yacht anymore.

The Drama Didn’t Start Until Season 4

Colin first appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 as the chief engineer aboard the Parsifal III. His calm demeanor, strong work ethic, and easygoing personality quickly made him a standout crew member. As chief engineer, Colin was responsible for ensuring the yacht’s mechanical and technical systems ran smoothly.

Colin’s expertise was particularly valuable given the challenges of maintaining a sailing yacht compared to motor yachts featured on the other Below Deck spin-offs, as he had to deal with various malfunctions and repairs. This experience contributed to his ability to repair and sail a hurricane-damaged catamaran, his current venture outside Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Throughout his first season aboard the Parsifal III, Colin formed strong bonds with the crew, particularly Captain Glenn and the deck team. He also emerged as one of the most down-to-earth crew members, avoiding much of the interpersonal drama while remaining lighthearted and fun. His humor and sense of camaraderie made him a likable presence.

As season 3 began, Colin formed a tight bond with Daisy and Gary, creating a close-knit trio that eventually spelled his downfall. Colin’s relationship with Daisy stood out due to their playful banter and obvious chemistry, but nothing romantic happened between them. Meanwhile, Colin had a solid bromance with Gary.

Unfortunately, season 4 is when it all started to fall apart for Colin. What made the love triangle particularly dramatic was the fact that Gary had previously shown interest in Daisy. Colin’s decision to pursue a romantic relationship with Daisy created tension between him and Gary, who felt betrayed. This led to moments of jealousy and conflict, thus basically ending their bromance. For Colin, this was a new experience, as he had largely avoided personal drama in previous seasons. It’s no wonder he chose not to return in season 5.
