Signs Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5’s Chef Cloyce Martin’s Ego Is Taking A Hit
Signs Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5’s Chef Cloyce Martin’s Ego Is Taking A Hit (He’s Deleting Comments Because He Can’t Handle Feedback)
Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5’s Chef Cloyce Martin has been dealing with a tough charter season, but his ego is taking even more of a hit online as he’s been deleting critical Instagram comments from fans. Throughout Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, Cloyce has been having a tough time with the charter season as a whole, especially with his immaturity in his role. Cloyce isn’t a new chef, but he’s new to the yachting industry and having a tough time taking feedback from his superiors. Though he knows learning from other yachties could be helpful, Cloyce is stubborn.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht hasn’t been a series that has a regular chef from season to season throughout its run, but it’s not a show that’s had issues with its chefs in the past, either. Chef Cloyce is a newer chef in the industry who feels he has all the knowledge he needs, but learning to work within a sailing yacht galley on the fly isn’t always the easiest. The majority of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 crew has been working to help Cloyce, but his on screen behavior has been pushing viewers to share their criticism online.
Chef Cloyce Has Been Struggling Throughout Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5
His Service Has Been Lackluster
Although he’s a skilled chef, Cloyce has had a hard time adjusting to life on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The chef is doing his best, but he’s been struggling with taking orders from the primaries and their preference sheets, along with understanding that the rest of the crew is there to help him if he needs it. After dealing with several poor services, it’s become clear that Chef Cloyce needs some help.
While Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and Captain Glenn Sheppard have been trying to help Cloyce understand what’s expected from him within each charter, he’s been struggling to adjust to the culture of the industry. Chef Cloyce hasn’t been in the yachting industry for long, and being so green can be difficult on the rest of the crew. Even so, he hasn’t been gracious about others trying to help him improve his meals for service.
Captain Glenn & Chief Stew Daisy Have Both Given Chef Cloyce Feedback
They’re Trying To Help The Chef Improve
Throughout the charter season, Chef Cloyce has gotten feedback from both Daisy and Captain Glenn about what he can do to improve from charter to charter. While the feedback isn’t mean-spirited, it’s clear that both are looking for Cloyce to do better to improve their own performances aboard Parsifal III. Daisy is typically one of the people who interact with the guests the most about their meals, and Glenn is the Captain of the sailing yacht, so it’s important for them to come off professionally with guests. Even with their gentle deliveries, Cloyce hasn’t taken well to any feedback.
Chef Cloyce Is Deleting Instagram Comments About His Poor Performance
He’s Having A Hard Time Hearing Criticism
Cloyce has been watching Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 along with viewers, and has been hearing from many about his poor performance. While Cloyce has been open to talking to Below Deck viewers, he’s also trying to preserve his ego. It was noted by some Below Deck viewers that Chef Cloyce was deleting Instagram comments that were critical of his performance online, likely because he can’t handle the input from outside sources. While Chef Cloyce needs to improve, he’ll never be able to if Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew members and viewers can’t provide honest opinions of his work.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
