During Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean, laundry has been a hot topic issue within the interior team as third stew Bri Muller struggled with misplacing items. After chief stew Aesha Scott put a new system in place to get to the root of the problem, second stew Elena “Ellie” Dubaich felt a sense of satisfaction in knowing the blame was no longer being put on her as well.

“I kind of felt vindicated when people finally realized that it has been Bri all along,” Ellie stated in the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show video above.

“I kind of knew a little bit more about what’s actually going on with Bri because I was in laundry with her,” she said. “And also I was in the crew mess on quite a few occasions when people were actively talking about all their things missing. Even the engineer was looking for his bed sheets! Everybody was kind of complaining about things.”

Ellie continued: “It’s not that I wanted Bri to fail, I just wanted people to know that it wasn’t my fault, even if I had messed up one time. I just need a moment of vindication and then I can move on.”

Ellie noted that while “the system wasn’t working for Bri,” she felt like she “couldn’t really step in anymore” to help the situation.

“She then began to kind of use me as a scapegoat for her own mistakes,” she added. “At a certain point, I […] just needed to step away.”

Bri Muller Defends Her Laundry Troubles

Bri gave her perspective on the After Show, including why she proposed a new system.

“Sometimes my brain does get tired,” she said. “If you ask me to read a book or look at some numbers, that’s not gonna trigger my brain as fast as it would with colors. So, I was thinking maybe colors would be better for me, let’s give that a go. It’s not like it’s ever too late to try.”

Aesha Scott Discusses the Challenges with Laundry

Though she was close to letting Bri go during the charter, Aesha admitted during the After Show how much she understood Bri’s case for having laundry challenges.

“In a perfect world, if I was running a boat that was year-round and we had months between each season — yes,” Aesha shared. “When I’ve got like, 17 hours until we pick up guests and I don’t even have all my interior join the boat yet? You’re on your own.”
