Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers is announcing some new policies and procedures as a part of his time on the series after Luke Jones’ sexual misconduct last season. While viewers have been waiting for another season of Below Deck Down Under for ages, it’s been something that Bravo has been decidedly tight-lipped about after the drama of the previous season. With a major instance of sexual misconduct occurring between Luke and Margot Sisson, things were tricky to work around as the rest of the crew tried to create a safe environment. Even Captain Jason wanted to ensure improvement.

While Below Deck Down Under season 2 was over a year ago, many have been waiting to learn more about Below Deck Down Under season 3 after Captain Jason announced it would be happening. The Captain has been quiet about the season for the majority of its filming, but teased some changes to the policies and procedures he’s put in place on the superyacht after the drama of the previous season to US Weekly. “There were changes for sure… They actually brought additional HR people to actually make sure that the black and white writing was understood,” Jason explained.

What The New Policies Mean For Below Deck Down Under Season 3

Things Will Be More By The Book

Although Below Deck Down Under season 2 took the issues of sexual misconduct aboard the superyacht quite seriously, knowing that there are new policies put in place for the next season means a lot. While it doesn’t appear Margot will be returning to Below Deck Down Under, anyone who works aboard the superyacht will be far safer with new policies and procedures put in place. The series taking its time bringing in HR representation to talk about the issues, explain the policies that the crew needed to adhere to, and ensure everyone was up to speed is a critical move.

While things can still happen aboard the superyacht, it’s clear that the production team behind Below Deck Down Under season 3 is taking things quite seriously as they moved into the next season of the series. New policies and procedures that prioritize the crew members safety at every turn are a great step in the right direction, and mean that though things may be more by-the-book on the superyacht, they’ll ultimately improve. For the crew members, knowing they’re being prioritized by Bravo, Below Deck, and Captain Jason is of the utmost importance, and likely makes them feel even more valued.

Although there are some worries that the new policies for Below Deck Down Under season 3’s crew could shrink the drama on the series a bit, it’s clear the BDDU crew’s safety is of the utmost importance. The crew being safe, understanding each other’s boundaries, and doing their best to ensure they uphold an appropriate level of conduct is a great start to ensuring that the new season of the series is a great one.
