Bosun Ben Willoughby shared a heartfelt social media post reflecting on his Below Deck Season experience and fans were sad about his departure from the show.
Below Deck Season 11 ended in May, and Bosun Ben Willoughby has been open about experiencing a difficult working relationship with Captain Kerry Titheradge.
Despite facing drama on the show, Ben ended it on a positive note by revealing that he’s still dating deckhand Sunny Marquis, who he was involved in a boatmance with.
The Bosun took some time to relax after the season aired and shared an Instagram post on June 11 paying tribute to his experience during Below Deck Seasons 10 and 11.
“Having some time to decompress from the last two years with Below Deck. It’s been so nice to finish up this journey. You can’t really tell someone what their experience will be with these type of reality TV shows, as each experience is different,” Ben wrote in the caption.
“One of which I wouldn’t trade for the world, being honestly grateful for the time I’ve spent on the scene and in front of the camera. As for now I know it’s not the last time I’ll be in front of a camera.”
The Below Deck star wrapped up his post by thanking the production staff for the hours they spent to make these types of TV shows happen.
“What? No more Below Deck for you? Onwards and upwards, best of luck,” one follower replied.
Another fan asked why Ben didn’t want to be on Below Deck anymore, and said they loved watching crew members on the show from Australia.
A third viewer encouraged him to keep everyone posted on what’s next. They will miss the Bosun on Below Deck, but believe he would have a better experience working under a different captain.
Ben officially said his goodbyes to the show, but has left lasting memories on viewers such as his Season 10 boatmance with Camille, and whirlwind relationship with Sunny.
While the crew member seemed to have made his decision about his future on Below Deck, fans are hoping to see him on another spinoff one day.
