Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Daisy Kelliher reveals Colin MacRae texted her after she called him “dead weight”

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 8 is set to premiere on October 7, 2024, on Bravo. The reality show follows the crew on a luxury sailing yacht as they cater to “demanding charter guests looking to follow the wind as they cruise along the crystal-clear blue waters of Corfu, Greece.”

Besides taking care of their guests and advancing in their professional careers, the crew deals with their personal drama on the 180-foot-long sailing yacht Parsifal III. Over the years, the show has introduced several cast members, including Daisy Kelliher and Colin MacRae.

Daisy Kelliher and Colin MacRae were in a relationship, however, it fell off in season 4 of the show. In an interview with E! News on October 2, Kelliher talked about her current status with her ex and revealed that she received a text message from him about the ‘Dead weight’ comment she made.

Before seeing the text message, Kelliher hoped that MacRae wasn’t mad with her for the comment and shared that it was supposed to be a joke. Hopefully, MacRae was able to see the humor behind the comment and laughed it off in the text message he sent her. She revealed:

“I got a message from him the other day about a comment I made about him. I hope he’s not mad at me saying this, because I basically referred to him as ‘dead weight,’ which was a joke. He just messaged me like, ‘Dead weight?’ Laughing emoji. Hopefully, he saw the funny side.”

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Daisy Kelliher talks about the upcoming season

In the interview, Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Daisy Kelliher delved into her current status with her ex and former castmate, Colin MacRae. After their breakup a year ago, Kelliher revealed that they don’t really talk that much.

Kelliher further implied that she doesn’t hold ill will towards Colin, and he could give her a call anytime he “needed anything.” However, the former Below Deck Sailing Yacht couple “don’t really keep in touch.” She said:

“We don’t really talk. If he needed anything, obviously he could give me a call. But we don’t really keep in touch.”

Ahead of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 8 premiere, the Chief Stew also talked about reuniting with Gary King. Kelliher was in a love triangle with King and Kelliher. While the Chief Engineer engineer won’t be returning for the upcoming season, Kelliher has to work with King.

After going through the season filled with the love triangle mess, Kelliher shared that the reunion “created a lot of tension” for everyone. She felt mistreated, which left her feeling angry. The negative emotions and unresolved tensions from the reunion episode contributed to the Below Deck Sailing Yacht star’s strong reaction. She said:

“The reunion created a lot of tension, so that’s why we went in so heated. It’s hard looking back on that because I was so angry after the reunion and the way I was treated.”

While Kelliher still had issues with Gary and was not looking forward to working with him. However, they had to resolve their feud for the sake of their crewmates and charter work ahead.

Kelliher further shared that she is “not somebody to hold a grudge” against and doesn’t like “holding on to anger.” She agreed that she and Gary have to “find a way to work with each other.” Daisy added:

“I’m absolutely fine with Gary. We’re not the best of friends, we live very separate lives. But I have no issues with him.”

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 episode will air every Monday on Bravo.
