Scott Patterson Reveals Shocking Theory Linking ‘Gilmore Girls’ and ‘Sullivan’s Crossing’ – You Won’t Believe the Connection!
The actor has some intriguing thoughts about his characters in both shows.
Scott Patterson is famous for playing Luke Danes on Gilmore Girls. But for the past two seasons, he’s been hitting the TV airwaves to portray Harry “Sully” Sullivan on Sullivan’s Crossing. Now, there couldn’t possibly be a way for these seemingly different shows to be connected … right?
Well, Scott seems to think otherwise, thanks to a shocking theory he came up with about both TV shows. When he spoke to Brit + Co. ahead of the Sullivan’s Crossing season 2 premiere on October 2, he expressed how it was possible for Gilmore Girls and Sullivan’s Crossing to be somewhat connected (outside of him and Chad Michael Murray being part of both casts, of course). When asked if he thought Luke and Sully would get along if they both existed in real life, he shocked readers with his surprising two cents.
“I think he is Luke,” he joked to the outlet in an article published on September 26. “You know, if Luke hadn’t ever met Lorelai or their relationship failed miserably and he shut down the diner, couldn’t cope anymore, and he escaped to the woods in Canada and opened up a campground.”
Considering how both Luke and Sully are prone to donning a backwards cap and wearing flannel shirts, this truly wouldn’t come as a total shock to Scott’s beloved fans. And while Gilmore Girls and Sullivan’s Crossing exist in two different universes, Scott does admit there are some similarities between the settings where both shows are set.
“There [are] a lot of similarities between Sullivan’s Crossing and Stars Hollow,” he added. “In Stars Hollow there are more eccentric, really lovable oddball characters, you know, because it’s a different genre of television. But Sullivan’s has its share.”

While we’ll need to tune into Sullivan’s Crossing season 2 in order to figure out which characters Scott is referring to, this certainly has us thinking differently about a possible Gilmore Girls connection!
