‘Sullivan’s Crossing’ Cast Is Desperate For Another Season
As anticipation builds for the second season of Sullivan’s Crossing, the cast is eager to delve back into the complex lives of their characters. The CW drama, based on the novel series by Sheila McClain, has captivated audiences with its heartfelt storytelling and vibrant setting. Set to air new episodes starting October 2, 2024, the show promises a blend of romance and drama, particularly focusing on the evolving relationship between Maggie Sullivan, portrayed by Morgan Kohan, and her love interest, Cal Jones, played by Chad Michael Murray.
In Season 2, fans can expect deeper explorations into Maggie’s journey. As she grapples with her tumultuous past and her relationships, the dynamics with her estranged father, Sully (Scott Patterson), and the fallout from her decisions in Boston will take center stage. Kohan has hinted at significant developments for Maggie, suggesting that she finds a unique connection with Cal, who allows her to be herself without judgment. This aspect of their relationship has resonated with fans, fueling their hopes for a fulfilling romance despite the challenges they face.
The second season will continue to develop existing character arcs while introducing new tensions and conflicts. While details remain under wraps, Kohan indicated that viewers will learn more about the backgrounds and motivations of several key characters, including the complexities of their family ties. This focus on character-driven storytelling is what makes Sullivan’s Crossing stand out, and the cast’s enthusiasm for exploring these relationships adds to the show’s allure.
Moreover, both the cast and fans are hopeful for more seasons beyond the upcoming installment. The series has garnered a dedicated following, and discussions around potential future storylines have already begun among the cast members. The chemistry between the actors and their commitment to their roles have made the show a beloved part of CW’s lineup, further increasing the demand for additional seasons.
As Sullivan’s Crossing approaches its Season 2 premiere, excitement continues to grow. With its blend of emotional depth, romance, and the scenic backdrop of Nova Scotia, fans are eager to see where the journey takes Maggie and the rest of the characters next.
Chad Michael Murray may be best known for his role on One Tree Hill, but as any Gilmore Girls fan worth their salt will tell you, he also played Chilton bad boy Tristan Dugray in an 11-episode arc on the beloved show. Now, he’s starring in The CW’s Sullivan’s Crossing alongside GG’s own Scott Patterson, a.k.a. Luke Danes. So, what was their reunion like?
“I’ve seen Scott a handful of times over the last 20-something years and it’s funny because I always remember when I was a young actor coming in—I was like 18, 19—and I remember seeing him on set and he just gave me those attaboys that you need,” Murray recalled in a recent interview with Parade (the Sullivan’s Crossing cast was cleared by SAG-AFTRA to do publicity for the upcoming season).
“You know, you’re a young actor, you’re walking in, you don’t know what you’re doing. You’re like, ‘Oh, I hope they don’t figure out that I’m a total phony.’ [And Scott said], ‘You got this. Come on man, just go crush it. You’re going to knock it out of the park.’ And you need that support from an older statesman.”
“It’s comforting when you get to go to work with actors that you know and you’ve got history with because you know what you’re getting into,” Murray says.
That said, he points out, “If you have any level of hair insecurity, don’t go around him. Best head of hair I’ve ever seen.” Murray’s fans, of course, would agree.
Sullivan’s Crossing airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
