Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Gary King’s Issues Are In The Spotlight Again (He’s Ruining The Show)
Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Gary King has been in the spotlight less during the current season, but his issues are cropping up in different ways and proving to the audience that he’s ruining the season. Gary, who’s been the First Officer aboard Parsifal III since Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2, has had a difficult season aboard the sailing yacht even just a few episodes into the season. Gary’s difficulties stem from a few different places this season, despite having one of the biggest scandals in Below Deck history hit the deck just a few charters into the season.
While Gary’s behavior toward women has always been something that viewers have found questionable, his time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 solidified that his boundaries and respect are at a minimum. Gary’s disrespect towards the female crew members aboard Parsifal III has always been less than exemplary, but his actions in the most recent season of the show combined with the shocking allegations of sexual assault that came out about him afterward sealed the deal. Gary’s stance on women hasn’t necessarily been made clear, but it’s obvious that he puts himself and his desires above others, especially women.

Although Gary has been struggling through the most recent seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, his time on the current season has been difficult to get through due to his questionable behavior. During the off-season, it was revealed that Gary had some serious sexual assault allegations lodged against him by a Below Deck franchise makeup artist. The allegations, which Gary has denied, were released during the filming of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5.
While Gary’s behavior has always been difficult to watch, hearing about the allegations pushed viewers to acknowledge that his behavior has been strange and sketchy. Gary has always treated women as objects rather than as people, and has consistently made it clear that he’d rather put his own needs and wants above those of others. His behavior has been questionable at best throughout his run on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, regardless of who he’s with.

Throughout the first few episodes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, Gary has been more of a background fixture than a traditional cast member. His time on the series has been minimal, and when he’s there, he’s appeared with others like Daisy Kelliher to push the plot forward. While there hasn’t been much of Gary on the show, when he has appeared, things have seemed different than they were before. Due to the allegations, it seems likely that Bravo tried to edit around Gary as much as possible so that he wouldn’t add fuel to the fire for viewers.
Gary’s Acting Like He Didn’t Have Serious Assault Allegations Lodged Against Him
He’s Playing Things Off As Normal
Although Gary has been in the background more often than not, his behavior on screen has been on par with what Below Deck Sailing Yacht viewers have seen in the past. Gary has been overtly flirty and borderline uncomfortable with the women on board, especially with the Stews working for Daisy. With the standard Gary behavior infusing his time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, his issues are in the spotlight, which takes away from the stories of the rest of the cast. Though Gary is a cast member, his poor behavior is taking away from the rest of the show.
