Entertainment Weekly has revealed an exclusive trailer for the second half of Blue Bloods’ final season, which premieres on October 18 on CBS.
The trailer opens with a tribute to the show’s 14-season run, with quick shots of memorable moments — weddings, births, family reunions, and, of course, calculated arrests. “It is with great pride and gratitude that I welcome you to serve and protect the most vibrant city in the world,” Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) addresses a new class of NYPD cops.
Amid the jubilant mood, the main characters recall the motivations that drive them. “Being a good detective is about catching bad guys, reuniting families, and doing research,” says Danny (Donnie Wahlberg). “I became a natural and I’m really good at it,” Erin (Bridget Moynahan) affirms. “Actually, I always wanted to be a cop,” says Jamie (Will Estes). And Frank sums it up: “When you have the people you love, you have everything, and for that, you should be grateful.”
Next, New York Mayor Peter Chase (Dylan Walsh) appears at a hospital press conference, warning of the threat to the Reagans’ eco-plan: “Our city has
Frank can’t hide any agreement with Chase. “Out there, I’m going to have to tell a thousand New York cops, ‘You can’t do your job.’” When his family asks what he’ll do, Frank replies, “Hope is the right thing to do
In a tense scene, an inmate (played by Edward James Olmos) confronts Frank in his office: “Look at the frame. You think you’re a good guy
The chaos continues when Erin is arrested in her office. “Erin Reagan, you have the right to remain silent,” Queens District Attorney Evaline Romano (Debi Mazar) announces. Erin breaks down: “I don’t know what I’d do if I lost my license
Danny also faces a dangerous situation. He appears tense and violent during the arrest, prompting Frank to defend him: “My son is an excellent cop and a family man.” But Grace (Lori Loughlin) is skeptical: “He’s also part of New York’s most famous police family and is known for his fiery temper.” Danny emotionally confides in his grandfather Henry (Len Cariou): “This is getting too personal
The trailer returns with tense action scenes, as the characters embark on dramatic crime-hunting campaigns
